Lernidee Trains & Cruises Appoints Namaste Tourism – New Exclusive Distribution Partner for the Indian Market
Berlin-based specialist tour operator Lernidee Trains & Cruises is expanding its presence in India through a new exclusive partnership with Namaste Tourism based in Mumbai.
The cooperation aims to introduce Indian travelers to Lernidee’s unique portfolio of extraordinary rail journeys, small-ship expeditions and immersive travel experiences far beyond classic mass tourism.
A strong focus of the partnership will be Lernidee’s legendary Orient Silk Road Express, operated in cooperation with the Uzbek State Railways, offering one of the world’s most iconic rail journeys along the ancient Silk Road through Central Asia.
Another highlight for the Indian market will be the signature river cruises and expedition-style small ship journeys. These include the company’s own fleet on the Upper Mekong in Laos, where the boutique vessels Mekong Sun, Mekong Pearl and Mekong Star have pioneered upscale river exploration for more than two decades. Sailing deep into remote landscapes where larger cruise ships cannot operate, the Mekong journeys perfectly represent Lernidee’s philosophy of “stopping where others pass by — and continuing where others turn around.”
The expanded cooperation will also include Lernidee’s renowned international rail portfolio, such as African rail safaris aboard the African Explorer in Southern Africa.
For Indian guests with a strong interest in Europe, Switzerland is expected to become another key destination within the partnership. Scenic rail journeys with the Alpengold through the Swiss Alps continue to attract growing demand from Indian travelers seeking premium yet authentic travel experiences.
The partnership will furthermore include Lernidee’s active travel programs. Today, the company is regarded as one of Europe’s leading specialists for guided e-bike journeys worldwide, combining active exploration with cultural immersion and high travel comfort.
